The objective is to communicate the meaning of an assigned concept/phrase within a defined set of limitations. Exploring a variety of visual communication and linguistic methods. Utilizing visual problem-solving and compositional tactical skills specifically addresses the relationships between form and content.
For this assignment, we had to choose a hakiu that we would be able to illustrate the elements of the hakiu in a non-literal interpretation. The graphic elements and typography served to enhance the meaning of the poem. The composition helps to demonstrate the structural integrity of the root 2 rectangle. I chose a poem written by my grandfather to work on. I knew this poem would be a challenge because of the abstract concepts, but I was ready for the challenge.

The Poem adapted from
"Questions asked of life// are always answered// but seldom in ways we want."
to
"Questions asked of life// are always answered boldly// seldom as we want."
